Course Description:
The successful use of forensic genetic genealogy (FGG) aka investigative genetic genealogy (IGG) to solve cold cases has recently created a revolution in forensic identification. This workshop discusses how the revolution came about, its limitations and capabilities, along with case studies of various complexities that illustrate how FGG can be used for cold casework. It also discusses the more important issues faced by both the legal system and the genealogical community in working together using this revolutionary new tool.
